I purchased this script years ago and never did anything with it, although I did assign a domain name that never got off the ground.

Now I get ready to use it, and these folks want to charge me $20 to assign a different domain name to the software!

Outrageous!

On top of that, I even purchased the premium version of their software, branding free.

Buyer beware.

Just to clarify the situation. $20 fee is only applicable for established domains.

We don't have separate branding free option. License policy is simple - you can use FREE version with limited functionality or you can purchase pro version with much more features and plugins and it already includes branding free option.

It's not a problem to switch domain at no cost if you never used your license on that domain or decided to switch after a week or a month. We have many customers who get this service free and they can confirm.

So please contact us in helpdesk and we will change your license No problem.

PHPLD charge $20.00 every six months (if you need to upgrade)

So, please make sure to know that before you buy their license.

As long as you don't need to upgrade you can use the software.

if you like to download after 6 months (You can only download the version you purchased) if you like to download a newer version (with bug fixes etc.)

you must pay $20.00 that is applied every 6 months..

Simon: You need to keep paying the developers and support guys, if some one is bothered to pay $20.00 after two years.
It is best you don't care for them..

If some one think the developers and support personal work for a one time fee.. .. Just ignore them.

I haven't purchased esyndicat (yet?) but I have tried phplink directory. I really felt like the support people at phplink directory were incredibly rude and I wouldn't recommend that anyone sign up for that abuse. Just my opinion.

Having said that... if you've purchased a license here I can't understand why you would need to pay a fee to change what domain you use it for. That makes no sense to me as I see no way it increases costs or work load for esyndicat. Am I missing something?

When you buy eSyndiCat License - you buy the a copy of eSyndiCat linked to certain domain name. For any another domain name you should buy another license.
It's a normal practice in other companies.
The price for such a product is more than fair ($75 one time only).
There are no fees for the support (meanwhile we spend our time to help you for free).
License domain change is an intermediary way that helps not to pay for another license if you don't want to use the old domain name for which the license was bought.

I've been working with this group for several years now and there isn't another company or product that can match their quality.

Yes, sometimes they do things I don't agree with but that's business.

If you have just an ounce of knowledge in these type of products then you can't get any better then this group of guys.

If you are in over your head to begin with then you are going to get frustrated with any provider. Sounds like this is your situation.
