Default Some questions on SEO

Hi

I have a question or 2 on SEO.
I submitted my directory http://www.habarisearch.com/ to search engines a while ago. actually Google got hold of it even before this.
The directory has over 4000 links.
I installed the sitemap plugin about a week ago.

I manually submitted to MSN Live search & Yahoo & to several dozen other search engines & web directories.
The thing is I so far see only 1 page indexed, the front page in Live search & Yahoo explorer.
Is this normal?
I expected many more pages.

About the Sitemap: .../sitemap.xml
Is what it shows what is expected?

Load time when I use various site optimization tools is consistently poor. An example is at http://www.sitereportcard.com/ where it's 1/10 most of the time, Load Time: 60.53 seconds on a T1 connection.

Another service shows
Connection Rate Download Time
14.4K 201.78 seconds
28.8K 107.29 seconds
33.6K 93.79 seconds
56K 61.40 seconds
ISDN 128K 27.68 seconds
T1 1.44Mbps 14.09 seconds [I mostly get higher values for all these]

I suppose that is not normal. What can be done to speed up the site?

I have no reason to believe the server is slow.

Lastly, in search engine results (using site name containing text as search term), apart from the title, the only other content shown is some text links at the bottom actually referring to DMOZ. I dont like this ... How does one get other content like in the top block highlighted?

Thanks & regards

there's no need to submit to search engines, as long you have links they will find you and index you, of course this takes time

xprtweb,

Yahoo indexes faster than MSN Live Search, Don't expect much from MSN, why do you think Microsoft wants to acquire Yahoo so badly?

It took MSN almost 6-8 months before indexing my directories. I did everything I could, it just isn't worth the hassle. Concentrate on Content, content-related links with your directory keywords, description etc.
