2 week old directory, page 1 google?

Amazing. I checked my stats today, 10 links in from google this month already. , I am not 3 weeks old. I did a check, to see if the stats are believable, lo and behold, page 1 of google, for antique directory was my directory of directories.

6 down from the top. I know google made some changes lately, but this? before you say it, the search term brings up 1,600,000 results, so it is not that unique. Any ideas, if it works for 1 category, and 6 categories have had a google hit, why does it not work for the whole site? Free wedding directories, out of 18,600,000 I got a google hit.

No, I am not prasing my directory up, far from it. Too much work needed, I am not promoting either, hense the lack of link. I am however trying to establish why, and how I can optomise the whole site for the same results.

You will not be able to get the same results for the whole site. More unique search term - better chance to get higher rankings and better exposure on search engines.

One of my sites is optimized for very specific targeted visitors and I am on the first page (1st to 6th position) for all my targeted search terms on Google and Yahoo...
