Pictures within messages - this forum

I have learned how to upload & attach pictures to my messages, but how do people get the pictures to appear within their messages?

I had investigated that, but it asks me for a url rather than an upload location.

Does this mean that I would need to upload the image file to somewhere on my website?

AND keep it there for ever so that this forum's message link did not get broken?

Yep you have to upload your image. I don't know how vBulletin handles the image once you remove it? I find using the attachment a lot easier.

Yes, I agree and think I shall stick to having file attacments because it is easier. Shame really as I think the in-message graphics are easier for the readers of the forums - But I can't commit to the responsibility to retain non-website content at the website host, on a permanent basis.

I suppose the ideal would be if Vbulletin had been able to show the attachments in-message
