This one seems to bring better results based on what you searched for and not the popularity of the site.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT HAKIA?
hakia is focused on bringing quality results via its semantic search technology. Today's search engines bring popular results via statistical ranking methods. Popular results are not always quality results, and the searchers suffer in many ways ranging from wasted search time to using misleading information.

Thanks Greg

Did you try it yourself and are you satisfied with the results? I tried to make some test searches and I can say for sure I don't like them And it's not the reason that our sites are not #1 in that SE. I tried to find 'directory software' and I was able to find some dead sites above eSyndiCat

I think this way is a bit obsolete as semantic is just one of the components for SE. I suppose sites can have better positions in SERPs just because they have a high keyword density for a given search phrases..

IMO I will stay with Google
