Hey,
I hope someone can help me. I have recently installed WAMP Server 2.0i on my laptop so i can see what the free version of esyndicat is like before purchasing the Pro version. I have currently managed to extract the esyndicate files to the following location: C:\wamp\www\esyndicat and have created a new Database with the name test_db. set username as test_admin and have assigned a password. and set the permissions. NOW IM STUCK. in the documentation it states to run a script or something to change the read/write permissions on the files. However i do not know how to do this and so when trying to get to the esyndicat installation im getting Error 500 Internal server error. Could someone please help me solve this issue so i can start testing this version and then upgrade.. Please please help |

Hi michael - Welcome to eSyndiCat.
![]() Try using WAMP 1.7.2 version instead. Please see this thread: (see post #3 by Sergey) http://www.esyndicat.com/forum/showt...highlight=wamp Also don't worry about setting permissions on the files. I didn't and had no problems.

First of all, try to place a .php file with the code
PHP Code:
Try to rename .htaccess file (1.htaccess, for example) in the esyndicat root folder and try to run your domain via browser. If that won't help either, please let me know |

I am using 1.7.4 perfect, I think you have to enable the rewrite_module in apache modules menu, then restart all services, if I remember correctly had the same problem after I installed also. I dont think its enabled by default.
Might of raised the memory limit from 8mb to memory_limit = 16M in the Config files > php.ini cant remember which script needed it. Oh I tried 2.0 first and it just ran seriously slow. minutes to load a page. 1.7.4 works a treat.

Wow! I've never heard of a WAMP server. What a great way to develop, modify, test, etc. websites!
