Hello phoenixisland,
It's seems the problem in the mod_rewrite. Please check up installed mod_rewrite module on your hosting.

the apache mod_rewrite is enabled in admin panel. is there something else i should do? I had esyndicat1.4 running on a different domain on the same hosting account with out issue. i decided to use it for a different domain which is the original domain and it's not working.
thanks
