Affiliate program?

Do you think it's about time to start broadly advertise your product?
Even though there are some minor bugs here and there but with help of Simon, Nick and new valuable addition of Vincent
they will be promptly corrected.
I have been researching directory scripts for the last 4-5 month and let me tell you - among free and similarly priced scripts you are beating competition hands down.
I can't thank enough Professor Tom (subseo) for introducing me to this script in Digital Point forum.

My point is - link in the footer will not bring you many new customers.

I did an experiment:
I created couple of free skins for ArticleScript (product of David Duval, owner of phpLD) and all I asked in return is to keep referral link in the footer.
According to my statistics there was more than 100 downloads for my skins and guess how many backlinks I got?
You guessed right - ZERO!

I am sure there are a some people who appreciate your work and will do all they can to promote your product...

But if you offer some reward - your link or banner will be all over the WWW in the matter of days!

You don't even have to run your own affiliate program nowadays - simply join one of the networks like Commission Junction or Link Share.
If you want something more software related there are element5 and DigitalRiverOne network. Also you will have an option to approve your affiliates on the individual basis.

This is just something to think about...

I'd love an affilate program for this product. I know I've already sold a few people on it already and am not seeing anything from that :)

Simon has talked about this in the past. As recently as the first of this month. As to if and when?

I've lost track on how many times I've promoted eSyndiCat at other forums.
But it sure would be nice to put a few extra $$$ in the pocket. :)

That's sad. I noticed skins for PHPLD are succesful, most keep the links intact. There are few that don't but they usually get public spanking on DP or other forum.

As for affiliates...I believe affiliate program is already in place. At least I found the link to it on one of eSyndicat related websites. It is based on xooPartner, I have no clue how it works or whether it is something that Simon already decided to go with. As long as he has not announced it publically, it is probably still only in testing/consideration phase.

I for one am also awaiting it with a lot of interest.
