Footer.TPL Will Not Change

This is all that appears on my FOOTER
Company Policy | Terms Of Service | | Contact Us

All of the links are disabled---the Contact us goes NOWHERE.

I tried to disable or modify these in ADMIN and they stay the same.

Any ideas.

When you say they go nowhere, can you show me a link to where they are?

I had a look at your site but the links in footer of the pages that i looked at worked, so i guess i wasn't looking in the right place :rolleyes: .

Anyway to give you an idea, you have to go to manage pages, this controls all the links to external pages, in three areas, top links, footer links and editor (box) links.

There are a few default pages, and you can add some too, the default ones you have to modify the url by selecting> page external url and putting in where you want it to go including the http://www.where_im_going.com, and if it's only for the footer you want it then click bottom menu radio box.

You can modify these default names also by changing the unique name, and then adding that to your language files.

Remember also if you add a new link in footer, to add
'link_name' => 'Link Name'
to the language files. We often do it so quickly that we forget this part and wonder why it doesnt show! :wallbash: :unsure:

Whenever you make changes that don't seem to take affect be sure to clear all contents in the tmp folder in your links directory (on your server).

I checked another computer in the house and I still have a problem with the footer.

I tried making the selection twice in the admin area and it will NOT update these to include Advertising and About US Plus I DID NOT select Company Policy or Terms of Service!

I have been at this two weeks and I am getting NO WHERE.

I am willing to pay someone at this point before I lose another two weeks,

If you want to create a new page this is what you do.

go to manage pages - left column in admin panel
you'll see near top right - pages :: create | view
click create

now fill in the boxes
as an example for Advertising
Page name (unique): - Advertising
Show in menus:Top Menu Bottom Menu Editor Menu
choose a menu you want the link to appear at
fill in content
click submit

green box at top will tell you what to add to the language file
in this case it would be
Page added. Now please add the following line to the language file:
'advertising' => 'advertising',
save changes

this lnk will appear on it's own, you don't have to add it to the footer (bottom)
The url for the page would then end with this - padvertising.html

For me exactly the same problem,
Do all your step but my link not appear on the footer.
The new page is create and appear on the admin panel but not on the footer :wallbash:

Are you positive that you that you picked "Bottom Menu" from the choices?
Show in menus:Top Menu Bottom Menu Editor Menu

Also make sure you added what you were suppose to to the language file.

Try top menu for the heck of it and see if it shows. Just an idea to see if it works.
