How to auto refresh files in browser

I am using an FTP program to pass files to the upload directory which are then users can link to from the listing which works fine. However when I replace the file with an updated version the browser remembers the old one. Is there anything I can do to force browsers to ignore the memory of the old file.

Thanks for the tip but this only helps me and not others who I hope to use the directory. Appreciate any other ideas?

You could add <meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache"> into the HEAD section of your theme template. At least that will work for browsers that respect it :)

Hi, its a simple solution that you clear you old cache and then upgrade the version. I hope then it is not happened.
