Adding more fields in categories

Hi

I would like to know whether it is possible to add more fields into the categories? I know it is possible to add additional fields into listings now but I required a couple more description fields in the category level, and also need to be able to sort or search by these fields.

ANother question is: is it possible to have multiple directory in a single domain? Eg, I would like to have a shopping directory for "brick and mortar" shops and another separate directory for online shops in the same domain.

Is this possible?

This isn't available by default. But can be done as custom modification.

Yes you can, but Directories must be installed in other directories on your server
first will be available from www.domain.com/dir1 and second from www.domain.com/dir2
