Error: Requested URL not found (404) on homepage

I had an admin that enabled a couple of new categories (approved them) along with a couple of new links, now the homepage is showing "Error: Requested URL not found (404)" where the categories should be. Everything else seems to be working as planned.

Any thoughts, hints, suggestions, etc, would be appreciated! I have no idea what happened to cause this and am pretty concerned about why this would happen.

I have written support 3 times regarding the same error with no reply (although I did receive a number by email). I am completely stuck and cannot go forward. We were in the process of updating a very old and popular site ... the directory is here: http://new.mglinks.com and you can see the error message. Everything else looks fine on the back end. I am not a programmer, so please tell me what to do. The admin panel does not seem to have the ability to do what is suggested above.
