After setting up a Directory site, what next?

Hello,

I wish to start up a directory website pretty soon but i want someone perhaps with much experience to guide me as regarding this.

I have a script, registered a domain name for this purpose and all that but after installation of the script what do i have to do immediately next.

For instance, th various categories will certainly be empty, how do i get them filled?. maybe i should say that i wouldn't mind knowing various means of earning from the site too such as adsense, affiliate, adverts etc.

In few words, please can anyone tell me what to do next.....a-step-by-step details.

1) setup clean and nice.
2) add your site to other established directories.
-- You may need to give recriprocal link to be able to add to some directories.
3) give some advertisement - like link buying etc.
4) Run the directory for some time without expecting any money.
5) Once there are enough links, you may start selling sponsored links.
-- At this time you can think of Adding adsene etc.

For a directory to be in a good shape it will take about 6 months of hard work. (Dedicated Hard work)

And after all there is not much money in there as there are 1000's of new directories coming every day.
