I hope you don't mind but I have another problem. I turned mod rewrite off because the navagation didn't work with it on. My host has mod rewrite present but I don't have a .htaccess file in my install directory. Why and where do I get one? I really want mod rewrite turned on for the search engines.

Hi dpeterson,
.htaccess file is present in all our directories (root, admin, install, and etc) in our version package.
You can re-upload all that files to your hosting.
Try to adjust your FTP manager to show hidden files.
Hope it helps.

Hi dpeterson,
Try to upload attached .htaccess file to your root directory. Maybe it'll help.

Thanks David, I uploaded the .htaccess file but it didn't do any good. I still have no navigation with mod rewrite turned on. I know that mod rewrite is present on my host server so that leaves me completely confused!

In that case please read this article (http://www.esyndicat.com/support/desk/knowledgebase/view/1.html) if you haven't read it before. I hope it will be helpful for you.

Thanks David, I'd read that 404 error thing 3 times but I didn't understand what RewriteBase /directory/ meant until I looked inside the htaccess file. It's fixed and it works. Again Thanks
