Hi!
I used Links Wizard to retrieve about 1500 links from dmoz.com. I managed to restore them into esyndicate 1.2 Pro, now my question to you is, how do I request that they add me as well?
When I go to non-reciprocal links, almost all the links I added are there and there is nothing in the Reciprocal URL field. What am I supposed to enter in that field?? :sos:
Also, one last question. Are e-mails automatically sent to these links informing them that we have added them? or is this something that needs to be done one by one?
Thx

Hey,
I once used a software which built 1000's of index pages using search engine listings. Traffic Equalizer it was called. Started hearing from others that the
search engines were dropping them for SEO spamming.
Anyways, this isn't quite the same thing. that was more like a site map.
But, I did get many people threating to sue if I didn't remove my link to
their site! Just my 2 cents

Hi Lattman,

Default value for that field is 'http://'

Email is sent when you try to suggest link via AdminPanel with checked option 'Send Email notification'
Hope it helps.

They can threaten all they like but I would seriously question any legal recourse otherwise everyone would be looking for payouts from Google, MSN, and Yahoo. Copyright infringement, for example, is far easier to produce a case for yet unless huge dollars are involved it's next to impossible to enforce and I have yet to see a hosting company's Terms of Service mention anything about links... hot links yes, but not a direct text link.
The other side of that would be why link to someone that does not want your traffic, unless the reference adds value to your directory in sme way.

Your script had a little bug. I don't know about reason, but your language table doesn't contain notification message about non-reciprocal links. And in cause of this when you insert the link via admin panel nothing was happen. And you returned to suggest-link page.
You should add string for 'no_backlink' key. Or disable reciprocal checking in AdminPanel->Configuration->Link Checking.

Was this addes or do I have to add it myself, if so, can you please tell me how I can add it?

Hi Lattman,
Let me clarify your issue.
Reciprocal url is the URL of page on that site that has a back link to you. So if you automatically added links in your directory using LW than it does not mean those sites have a link back to you. Your reciprocal urls is default in this case. If you contacted them and asked to place a link to your site and they decided to do this - you should find out the page where they placed a link and edit their listing in your directory setting correct reciprocal url value.
Anyhow I do not recommend to use any kind of automatical submission.
