Uploaded images not visible

I have Pro version 2.0.01. I've created a database field called images and uploaded the image, but the image isn't visible in the listing unless I manually alter the permissions on the file to 777. I've searched for similar problems, and it says to delete or alter the .htaccess file in the uploads folder. I don't have a .htaccess file there. Only the image file and a html file. What else can I do? Love the script by the way. I've been searching for one for a while. Glad I chose this one. Just need a couple of mods and it'll be exactly the way I like it.

Probably, your system isn't display hidden files, and you can't see .htaccess.

So what can I do. Why is it hidden? I guess if there's no quick fix for this, I can just check all submissions and then change permissions to any uploaded images. Don't really want to if I don't have to. Can anyone help.

I'm having the same issue with images, but even if I manually modify the permissions on the server for them, they still dont display...

Any idea how to fix this?
