I had eSyndicate free version installed on my server as a try-out and I just ungraded to the Pro version. I did a fresh install, uploaded all files via FTP, removed the old tables and information from the database, adjusted permissions per the manual and have run the install script.
The server is Apache/1.3.37 with
Mysql 4.0.26 and PHP Version: 4.4.4
My system registers
Magic Quotes GPC as ON and
Register Globals as ON
but supposedly those will not affect the running of the script.
After moving past the license to the next screen, I provide all the database information, admin password, etc., I click on Next and I am given a blank screen, no error messages, nothing (index.php?step=2). I have run through the install script in both Mozilla and IE 7 with the same results.
When I check the mysql server, I see that no tables have been created in the database specified, but I get no messages to that effect (or any other) in the browser. I have no doubts that the information I have provided regarding connection details and required path, etc., is correct.
Has anyone else experienced this blank page problem? Is there a way I can configure the system by hand? (I can create the database with no problem but would need guidance for setting up the config.inc.php file)... I'm hoping at least to be able to get into the admin section and work out the rest of the configuration from there.
Any suggestions?
