Dears,

I just started doing SEO (Newbie).

I'm using IBP and getting for the 'First Sentence of the Body Text'.
=>
"Home Search New Links Top Links Popular Links Suggest Link Suggest Category"

Is there a way to avoid that and that the first sentence of the 'Description' (entered in esyndicat) will be used.

Thanks a lot for any hints/suggestions.

Hi,
I think the only way for this is to manipulate templates. You should use absolute positioning. Check our site for example. If you open it in a text browser like Lynx you will see our content part comes first, then menus, etc.

We would make something similar with our templates but they would be too complicated in this case. It would be more difficult to modify them later then

Simon,
Thanks a lot for your reply.

I'm using the menu from the green template, which is of course absolute position.

Due to the fact that so many using that or a mod of it, maybe it isn't an issue with the search engines rather just an issue with the IBP reporting.

Will see shortly when the site is indexed.
