Just a crazy question here....
why can't we display paypal/2CO code for subscription buttons like the code for adsense is displayed? If we can change our adsense code and store our own in the DB, why can't we do the same for subscription code?
My very general outline of my idea is this...
User initiates link submission as normal
user selects free, one time payment, or the subscription option submission
IF free submission is selected then process operates under existing process
IF one time paid submission is selected then process proceeds as usual
If subscription option is selected submission would proceed as normal with the link checking and confirmation process until payment page is required. At this time rather than displaying one single button for a particular plan the payment page displays multiple options for the user to choose from. (a hybrid process of link-display and adsense display techniques)
user selects a subscription option, makes payment and is redirected back to the proper page to confirm payment was successful and complete the paid link submission process. From the admin side basically we'd need at least 2 fields for subscription name or ID and the actual code for the paypal subscribe button.
I am definately not a PHP programmer and I may be WAY off the mark on this but I jsut HAD to toss it out as a potential option. It's been buggin me all night.
Anyone have any feedback? Ideas? Insights into something I may have missed?
If any of the programmers wish to tackle this, I'll put my directory install up as a guinea pig for testing.... and if it works I'll even take the time to create a demo video showing people how to implement it.
Hope to hear comments and opinions :)
All the best
