Sorry, but there seems to be a lot of confusion on how to instal a different language file. I've looked through the forums and there are a few mentions of it - but the solutions given are not at all clear and are often conflicting.

Would it be possible to have a post with step-by-step instructions on how to change from the English language version to another language? Or step-by-step instructions in the documentation area on the main webpage?

I bought a license for eSyndicat precisely because the ads said it could be used in different languages - but for the moment that doesn't seem to be true.

Many thanks in advance for any help,

Terry.

Hello Terry and welcometo our support forum!
1) upload and unzip language file from this page http://www.esyndicat.com/downloads/miscellaneous.html
2) Open Admin Panel » Manage Database » SQL Management » Import (Icon) » Specify path to the yourLanguage.sql file » button "Go"
3) Check Admin Panel » Configuration » General Configuration » Language switching » enabled

Thanks, Dave.

Unfortunately, those steps don't work - at least for the Spanish language file. The language file just won't install and all we get is an error message.

I must admit my original post should have been titled "Spanish Language File", and I should have made it clear I was referring to that, rather than language files in general. There are other posts on here about it, so there is obviously a bug or some other kind of problem in that particular file.

In the end I solved the problem by opening the sql language file, on my computer, in Notepad. I then used the "replace all" function to replace {prefix} with dir_. After that the file installed with no problems.

I hope this helps others who are having problems with the Spanish language file.

Best regards,

Terry.
