Syndicating Categories

I am currently working on finalizing my Classic Car restoration site. This site features a combination of scripts (eSyndicat, Coppermine, Wordpress). I am going to be putting each of these into there own directory. I then want to pull some key information from them to a custom "portal" home page. Pulling the wordpress articles will be easy (RSS).

I am needing to pull the top two levels of categories from eSyndicat to display them on the home page as well. Anyone done this? What is the best method? Suggestions?

has no one written something to integrate these categories with another script?

I have all of my scripts setup on the site, but I need to get the home page up and going which requires this integration.
