Link construction error - Fire and Ice - v1.2

If you do a search for say 'keyword' and the 'keyword' is in the external link to the listing the the link that links to the detail page is constructed as ...-span-class-highlight-keyword-span-...

The link still works BUT if you hardcode a set of predefined searches then of course it creates nonsense for the search engines to spider.

Where is this generated and what is the fix?

This seems to be generated within search.php - at least, that's where the span class is inserted around the search word in the link title. I have checked version 2 and this seems to have been fixed. However, as there is no Fire and Ice template available yet then the search engines are kindly indexing the nonsense currently being created.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Can someone running 1.2 confirm what I am seeing? Has support moved to just version 2 issues?
