Hello from Germany... excuse my bad english :ooi:
im really interested in eSyndiCat Software, so here are some things i need to know before i buy this fine script:
1.) "We offer free database migration from ANY other directory scripts. If you already have another directory or link exchange script we can migrate its database for eSyndiCat Directory Script!"
What about Linker (http://enproject.codelib.co.kr/) ? I'm runing a directory with this very old script - you can taka a look @ www.tacci.de - really need something better ;-)
What do you need for migration? SQL-Dump?
2.) If i buy this 149 $ License i can install and use this script for e.g. 100 directory sites? Currently i own only 1 site, but have some ideas for another 3-4 directory sites ;-)
3.) I am allowed to remove this >> © 2005-2006 Powered by eSyndiCat Directory Software << on the bottom of each page?
Best regards Bruno

1. Dont hold your breath on having your database migrated. I opened a ticket and never received a reply.
2. Yes, you can install it on unlimited domains.
3. Yes, it's template driven so you can easily make it say what you want.
Finally, don't get too jacked on the script. It needs some work and the "team" that seems repsonsible for doing that work seems disconnected and without the motivation to fix many minor issues that would make it a much better script. Since I bought 6 months ago, only 1 minor bug fix.
Work flow is not the best and features like thumbnails and Google page rank no longer work, due to changes on those sites. However, no work has been done to modify the script to work with the changes or offer solution. You can dig through the forum, but I don't have time to search for bug fixes that I have to implement myself.

1. The team will take a data dump from you and import it into eSyndicat Pro.
2. The $149 licence is unlimited.
3. Yes, I believe you can remove the copyright notice.

microlinx,
Looks like you are not following the forum at all.
There is a new version coming this month or early next month.
And the Dev team is working on that.
It is not a html web page you go and change as you like.
when a script like eSyndicat needs to be released they need to check 1000 things before they can put it out.
Hope you can understand the difficulites and not just joke about some ones hard work.
Thanks

Sai:
I also heard early October, but now it's late October. I would think some of the easy to fix issues could be incrementally fixed and a few more releases provided.
I have a real problem with the way the link approval process was laid out. Add a few very simple preview buttons which woul dopen the site and recip link in a new browser window would really help. Including a simple meta tag reader, so submitters woul donly have to enter their URL, then the script would suck the meta tag data into the form would really help.
Could be a great script, but it seems to me rather mediocre.
That's just my opinion.
As far as following this forum, you gotta be kidding! If you enter a search on "upgrade" do you find a sticky mentioning any upgrade?

microlinx,
Did you program any software?
I mean not a web page, any thing that can be sold or can be given to a user? (Basically did you ever work as a Programmer?)
If you ever did, what did that cost your user?
How many times you delivered on time?
(Write a small script - sell it to one person and satisfy him/her and post here.)

You are such a good critic; how come you did not realize that the forum software is not written by eSyndicat team?

"You are such a good critic; how come you did not realize that the forum software is not written by eSyndicat team?"
What?
I know the bb script is not written by esynd. Vbulletin, I haven't just fallen off the turnip truck.
Been on "the web" since 300 baud modems.
And Yes, I do write software. Process Control related. I write it on the spot at industrial customer sites in the brief moments when a power turbine or an entire plant is idle. A few hours at most, and it had better be right or the plant goes down wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars. I don't have the luxery of months to write a few easy fixes.
Pleeease. don't try to make me believe tha PHP programmers have it so bad.
I also know enough about cranky customers from websites I run. Sometimes your worst customer can be the best
teacher in improving your business. I'm also a BBB member.
Yes, I am being critical, and that is my right as a paying customer.
I have made suggestions and maybe more vocally than others. Don't take it as criticism, take it as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.
I'd be happy to submit a full list of stuff I've found that could be improved.
