I am very interested in this script but have some questions:

1. I keep reading that phpLD is the most popular script but the unlimited domain license option seems to be a good deal with eSyndiCat, especially if you plan on making a lot of sites. Are there any other benefits over phpLD?

2. If I want to have a different homepage to my site, can I? Or do I have to have the eSyndiCat template as the homepage? Basically, I want to know if I can stick it in its own directory and not the root folder, so I can have my normal style of homepage and then a link to the directory.

3. How long does the script take to install, if you are savvy with php/mysql/phpadmin?

4. Once installed, am I likely to get many people contacting me for reciprocal link exchange? This may seem like a niave question but I have never done this type of site before.

5. Do you have a suggested method for initially getting the site indexed or do you just have a link from one of your existing sites?

6. Can I script be used to create a Review site where I have reviews of (e.g. clickbank) products on each directory entry rather than just use it as a link directory?

7. Can I remove the link request form so I can use it as in #6?

Great looking script.

Thanks,

Jon

1. I believe eS has extra fields feature over PHPLD. It also has custome pages that you can easily integrate, news module, ...., support that will convert old databases for you, link comments and votes, contacts form.

I didn't use PHPLD3 yet, so if anything above is incorrect,, my apologies.

2. Some, I think, did that already, try search forum

3. 5 minutes

4. I don't do recip exchanges so sorry can't answer :). Anyway, you also have to promote it, it doesn't come by its own, and it mostly depends on how hard you promote.

5. links links links..... it's a universal mantra

6. Yes. But I'm not sure if there are not some problems with certain kinds of links. Maybe someone will answer, or try search forums it was discussed.

7. Definitely. Easy to do.

1. Much easier to ad and customize extra fields. Built-in comments and rating system. Tell a friend, Contact, News functions...

2. You can install it in any folder or subfolder

If I tested the free version, is it easy to upgrade the site to the paid version? How long would the upgrade take?
