Hi,
If you accept free submission, then you are getting huge submissions, I guess.

How long do you take to review a site?

You can expect anything from 40-200 submissions per day, depending on how much you promote.

Most directories accept anywhere in the 1 day - 2 years range, the good ones usually take 1 week - 2 months.

Less than one day.
For now I am little bit OK with all sites, as I get more than 5000 links, I will visit the old links and recheck all.

When you get to be a big site you need to be careful, initially you just need some links.

You can expect anything from 40-200 submissions per day, depending on how much you promote.

How to promote to get 200 links per day - I am getting about 40 or so for my signature links.
What should I do to get more links?

Get them listed on free SEO friendly directories list (http://info.vilesilencer.com/). Submission is via forum, link also in my sig (I'm co-mod there). Not sure if you aren't listed already, I would have to check.

You could also register on few other lists, but since those are mostly copycats that copy from this list, you will safely arrive there in little time with no effort, too.

Next, you have to promote on the most popular SEO and webmastering forums out there, that allow promotions. Digitalpoint Forums is the most prominent that comes to my mind, but the more the better, only be sure to check the rules whether they allow it. Just announce you got a free directory, and every now and then, you can offer some special on paid reviews if you do them.

Last time WTM posted about a few forums and I signed up.

I am active in your forum and DP, Sitepoint, domainPros, V7n.com

Getting around 40 submissions per site now.

I will take time to add my sites to some other directories.

Thanks

Oh yeah, your are there, just noticed! Only checked for dotrig, and it's already in the update thread. So wait once the list is updated. Most of the traffic actually comes from the XLS sheet, and it's only being updated about once a month, after the particular update thread in the forum is closed and the mailing goes out to all the subscribers.

The other directory list guys mostly reside on DP, so if you announced it there, they already included you, and if not, they included you from the Vilesilencer thread already anyway.

So I think you are approaching it, just give it some time now. Plus the forum traffic, but it's mostly unstable, influx that correlates with how hard you promote it there, or how much you post (sig traffic).

I try not to let submissions go more than 24 hours. But, I think it would be greatly dependent on the submission rates. My site is niche so I get substantually fewer submissions than the general directories.

Plan on being busy when you first start promoting the site and if you get listed with vilesilencer there will be a spurt after posting in the forum and then when the list gets published each month you can expect to get a bunch. (Wow, is that a run-on sentence or what?)

Anyway, I tend to think there is no right answer other than as soon as possible. The big exception being when you charge for express review - you darn well better fulfill your end of the bargain.

I totaly agree with subseo. Another way could be approching those who are in directory submission business. I think you will get huge submissions from them.

Yes, I am sometimes requested by new directory onwer to submit sites to their directories.

I am in the directory submission business, just added your directories in my list.

That's true, good suggestion. I omitted this intentionally, since most submission services also source from Vilesilencer's or other lists already anyway, and, many of those services are a source of very low quality submissions (I know that many are banned in quite a number of directories). But if one goes for a sheer volume of sites being submitted, not quality, I can recommend quite a few privately :)

My idea is to let the directory get few thousand links frist and then worry more about quality.

Not sure if my idea is correct. This is with the fact if some one come to submit and see that there are not many already they may think that we are just starting are an un popular directory and leave, without submitting.

If I let the number of links go to say 5000 the next one comes to the directory will think this is a famous directory and may add their sites.

Once we reach 5000, we can start enforcing strict guidelines. Until then just make sure no MFA sites or adult sites are added.

Any suggestions:?
