Ad box

Is there away to make an ad box on the right hande side of the frame of the page? Some of the ads, that I would like to place mess the format of the website really badly, if there was away to provide like an ad box outside of the frame of the website that would be really awesome. I have an idea of how to do this, but could use some direction..
