Hi

I have just pushed eSyndiCat and so far am very impressed, but I do have a couple of questions related to sponsored links...

Can someone please tell me, what happens if a payment doesn't go through, does the link still go into the approval process as a free listing?

What happens with the sponsored link once it's advertising time has expired?

Does the advertiser get an email asking them to continue with their subscription just before the sponsorship expires and can they extend this service automatically?

Once the link is submitted it is stored in the database and is accessible via Admin Panel. No matter if the payment goes thru or not. If the payment does not go thru the link will have Approval status.


What happens with the sponsored link once it's advertising time has expired?


First of all, in order for links to expire automatically you have to set up a cron job to do it. This cron is not part of the v1.2 distribution. Please log into the eSyndiCat.com site, go to Downloads area and download cron.zip. Then set up sponsored_cron.php

Unfortunately, there is no way in the default distribution to upgrade listings. But Simon told me that he implemented this modification for a customer. Please contact him for more details on this.
