404 error for catagories and admin login

Now that my sites are displaying again I get a 404 error when I try to pull up the admin login page or click on the catagories for one of them. I've had this problem before just not with the admin login. Serg fixed it last time. I would like to learn how to fix it this time if possible. Thanks

No dice. I've been playing with this thing all day. I went so far as to delete everything, establish a new database and re-upload everything. After I uploaded it and proceeded through the chmod commands I to the last one the chmod Greenleaves deally and it said it couldn't find the file. I deleted that file & reloaded it with the same result. I then deleted it and tried it with the patches. Again no dice. So I just went ahead and installed it anyway, which went through fine but again 404 error when it came to actually displaying any of the template pages. Just for the sake of irritating myself I even tried using a different template with the same 404 error coming up afterward. Woohoo!! Need help.

I just re-read the stuff on the thread you provided and found that the version I am downloading has no .htaccess in the installation file. Just to de sure I downloaded it again and even checked the patch download. Nothing in either one. Where can I get the appropriate .htaccess document or are they all the same. thanks
