Links Trouble

I seem to be having trouble with the links area. First, when I choose "Free" it tells me that only sponsored links are being accepted. When I tried adding a sponsored link, it couldn't find the reciprocal link, even when I made a single web page with only the link on it. I am sure I am missing something easy, but I don't know where I have gone wrong.

Any ideas?

About your reciprocal checking checking. Could you please check in your server configuration if the following option is enabled:
allow_url_fopen

It's possible script can not find a link because it's disabled.

redeye is right. You have 'only sponsored accepted' option enabled in your admin panel and that's why free links can not be submitted to your directory.

OK, allow_url_fopen is on. I hope we are talking about the server info area on the link exchange script.

I tried to find the "Only sponsored accepted" area. I am sure you are both right on this, so I looked but I can't find it anywhere. Can you walk me through to where this area is? I know, newbies, what do ya do with them?!

Look in your admin panel

Configs > Financial Configuration

Find radio: "Only sponsored accepted" check "disabled" and save changes

Thanks got it. I am still having trouble with the link checking. I have put it on my site (on it's own page - nothing else but the link) and another one and both came back with that the link is broken. Is there another way to test this? Thanks!
