Hello,

I'm running two sites based on eSyndiCat script. One is based on 1.2 Pro version with standard templates and seems to be ok. - www.katalogg.pl. The other one is based on 1.1 Pro version and custom developed templates but runs horribly slow: www.bluepages.pl. Both are hosted on the same server and the server load is in overall very low - both index page and subpages. Any ideas what could be the reason? Database? Templates? Where to look for? Please help! I'm loosing my visitors!

As Loren suggested I have once more re-searched the Forum and found a solution: the problem is with calculating the number of clicks - problem and solution described here: http://www.esyndicat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5469.

The "Popular sites" box, which uses the number of clicks for each site was displayed on the index page and all category pages, that's why everything was running slow.

I have temporarily cleaned the link_clicks table and now it's running ok. I will implement the above mentioned solution later on.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

We MUST include that mod into upcoming version since I know of at least three customers who have encountered this problem.

Well done Nunio! I'm proud of you for finding it!

I have also implimented and yes lads, would be a bonne idée to put this in the next version.

PS Vinny is that you? You look terribly frightening, i wouldn't mess with you on a darknight! Although you have a uncanny resemblance to a character i really like..Shame you were not called Vyvyan just like the character from the young ones.. see pic :)

Fortunately, that's not me

I've been trying to make a shot of myself with my Kodak Z740. Finally I've come up with more or less good one :) I have uploaded it as my avatar.

Speaking of avatars, Loren, do you really look like that little red X in a larger blank field? :D

Additionally, neither your avatar nor your picture show up in your public profile... check the URL... is it perchance to your hard drive? or to a protected folder on your server?

I just double-checked this in Opera (mostly using IE6) and I can't see it there either.

You are right it doesn't show up in IE. How odd, it does in firefox and i am sure Greg mentioned he could see it the other day, so i guess it must be a IE and opera thing. Sorry edit no it comes from Esyndicat server...

Did you change something? It's visible now.

And yes... blocking access to images would do that but you'd still be able to see it from your cache in Firefox.

No, it was nothing to do with blocking access to images, it was on Esyn server, and my cache i can assure you was well and truly emptied, is everyday..don't know what the problem is or was but changed it to a jpg of me instead, shame i really liked that avatar..
