I get tons of blog submissions from www.nwtix.com (http://www.nwtix.com)........... most all of them are attempts to get you to go to his other sites to buy tickets for everything from baseball to opera and Broadway. Do any of you directory owners accept these listings? Do you think they are valuable additions to your directory? I've been deleting most all of them.
I do not accept them. I only take blogs if they contain good content.

I agree with everyone else I wouldn't accept them. In my old directory I before I switched to eSyndicat I used to gets tons of submissions from some book place, in fact that was about all I got LOL. When I moved the database over I didn't include any of those links and now for some reason I don't get them any more.
When my directory really started getting going, I would except most submissions. However over time I find there is a growing list of sites I routinely reject, jewelery sites that have a couple of hundred ugly pix on the main page, financial sites that ask for personal information but do not use SSL, descriptions written by someone clearly illertate, and anyone entering a phony reciprocal link (I don't require them), and sites that use auto pop ups of any kind, will all generally be rejected.

Thanks for the replies. I'm learning as I go, and now I seem to be deleting more submissions than I'm accepting. What amazes me are the sites that are wall-to-wall google ads, and have a pagerank of 4 or 5!
Yeah I know exactly how you feel. My approval rate has fallen to probably 25% now. Getting a lot of crap sites lately.

I would not also approve a bad listing that is not much relevant to my directory. Here is a simple example. I have a directory on our site that is related to SEO resources. Most popular sites related to SEO and sometimes I get submissions from sport, travel, dating, etc. sites. I do not accept them at all. IMHO by many reasons it's better to have 10 quality sites than 110 non relevant ones.
