Hi there, sorry for my ignorance with this, and I looked around but found nothing to help me.

I have the last "free" version of eSyndicat (I believe it to be the 1.5 version), and I see there's a few templates/skins available for this. My problem is that I'm not sure how they can be installed. I know the "default" template is the Sunny Day template, thus I know which directory the templates should be installed. One such template that I downloaded was named index.tpl. That's all it was, and I've tried uploading it to the templates directory is (where the Sunny Day template is), I've tried making the template "writable", but I can't get it to show on my links exchange page. :(

Any help would be muchly appreciated, if there's a link to some kinda tutorial for this, I'd appreciate anyone posting it here. :)

You install any new template into a new subfolder under the templates folder.

If there was just index.tpl, it was probably meant as a simple mod to another template, where you would just copy all the files, and overwrite index.tpl with the new one and voila, you have new template. If you are having further problems, it would help if you tell which template you are talking about.

Once installed, you change/select it from the admin panel. I don't have free version install handy righty now so I can't tell you where exactly that is, but it's definitely there.

Thanks for helping, Tom. :)

I saw this post...

I modified the hell out of the regular eSyndiCat Pro 1.4 template. If you think that you can use it, then feel free to take a peek:
http://www.mmorpw.com/templates/eThird/index.tpl
(right click to download it)
You should know all other file names for other template files in this directory:
http://www.mmorpw.com/templates/eThird/

Enjoy

So I right clicked and downloaded the tpl file. I guess I'm not doing this right. I do understand the concept of creating a sub directory in the templates directory, so that's no problem.

I guess in this case you just go to the eThird folder and overwrite the index.tpl with the new one you just downloaded. Or copy eThird to some other name you choose and overwrite it there so that original eThird is safe. I'm not sure though, whether v1.4 templates are fully compatible with v1.5.

Hmmmm, I don't see an eThird folder, maybe that's in another version of the software.
