I have both sponsored and featured links as paid options.
But when submitting via paypal, while the amount is always correct, it always says 'sponsored link'. This could be confusing for those submitting a featured link.
I know this feature was intended for sponsored listings, but it may as well be used to pay for featured listings as well.
How can I change the paypal payment page to say Featured link instead of Sponsored link when the listing is indeed to be a Featured link?
Hope that makes sense.

Shannon, i remember having something like this, and i thought it better to have a generic name rather than sponsored, so i changed in paypal, > pre_paypal.php> Link 13 "item name" the value to "Directory Inclusion"
However, would have been nice to know which one they choose from the very beginning..instead of having to guess from the figures  maybe someone will tell us how to achieve that!

ah ha! I will go look. Thank you Loren!
If the paypal module can be made to send money, why not create an actual subscription too? Re-curring payments until the customer cancels. Or an option of both!

Your very welcome Shannon
And your ideas sound great, but me thinks it's gonna be a while coming :) And at this point i thinks i am gonna introduce a donation button ;)

Hello -
Hey... good idea. Did you hear anything back yet? We have been thinking along the same lines:
a) Pay to register
b) Control how many links a registration can have (ie. one registration plan could allow 5 links, another 10 etc.)
c) Also charge for a sponsored link
Final question... do you know who can do work like this to customize our directory? I know that Simon and team could do it... but they seem a bit busy.
Yours - Scott

Honestly Scott i don't know who would be able to do this type of customisation outside the Esyndicat team. If you find someone...drag them here so we can pick their brains!!
As for above no i haven't heard anything back.

Tell me where the paypal processing information is in the script and maybe I can work this out myself.
Changing the method from a one-time payment to recurring payments shouldn't be hard at all. But allowing for both may be beyond me. But I'll give it a shot.

I used to integrate payment modules into some other scripts. And I want to say that recurring billing is not as easy as it may seem at first. I'm not sure though if it's the case with PayPal.
Concerning paypal processing. Two files are responsible for this:
purchase-complete.php and
plugins/paypal/post_paypal.php

Has just drawn my attention to the original question...
Well, what is the "paypal payment page" that you mention that has "Sponsored" displayed where you want "Featured" displayed. Could you give me a link or a screenshot... whatever?
