View Full Version : No links awaiting approval?

Hi, I just did a fresh install of my directory. I added the categories via Mysql and used the convert.php file to get them to display correctly.

Afterwards I went into a category and added a test link. I received the email that say that my link is awaiting approval, but I did not receive an admin email that would say that there is a new link, nor is there any awaiting approval links in my admin.

What should I do further? :sos:

Hi, BeatificFaith

Please, visit admin panel configuration->Email Templates", press "Save changes" and try add links again.

Sergey is probably correct and I would follow his advice. However I had a very similiar problem when I upgraded to the pro version and imported my database. My problem turned out to be in my dir_sequences table.

Make sure that the number in the 'links' column in that table is greater than the number of links you have in your directory. For example if you currently have 10 links that number in the the 'links' column should be at least 11.

Be well,
Tina

Hi Sergey,

Thanks for the offer, however this was about a month or so ago that I had this problem. After I imported my database into the Pro version I found that link submissions where not being added to the database. So being the curious type that I am lol, I looked at the code to see if I could figure out what was going wrong.

I discovered the sequence table is looked at to assign an ID to the new link. In my situation the value in the 'links' column for that table was '1'. However I already had 80 some odd links in my directory and one of them was already assigned the ID value of '1'. So therefore when I tried to add a new link, the insert failed due to a duplicate key error. I manually changed the value in the 'links' column to 81 or whatever happened to be one more than the highest value of the ID column in my links table at the time. That solved the problem for me.

The way that BeatificFaith discribed the problem appeared to be very similiar to mine which is why I offered my experience just in case it was the same problem. Hope I didn't cause any confusion.

Be well,
Tina

@Tina - thank you so much for trying to help.

Unfortunatly, neither solved my problem. I'm still not receiving any email nor is the test link showing up in the waiting approval list. Should I just wait until the next version comes out to see if that fixes my problem?
