View Full Version : click count
not a bug - yet, but I found this in the phpLD wiki:
http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/wiki/index.php/Googlebot_issues
has anybody already experience with googlebot and esyndicat?
i am writing this, as esyndicat uses the same javascript to count links.

Far as I know (and the likelihood of me being wrong is EXTREME, mind you!) the worst problems with it and phpLD were using certain "sitemapping for Google" tools with it active.
I'm using AutoMapIt (http://automapit.com) now, it didn't seem to have any problems while my sites were still on phpLD, and I haven't seen any so far on SynCat either.

hello Gerwin,
Thanks for the link I checked it and decided to test our own directory. I did not use the programm they were talking about I used XENU - IMHO, the best programm for checking broken links on your site.
I decided to check our own eSyndiCat link exchange directory of webmaster resources. Here are the reports:
http://www.esyndicat.com/reports/
You can check them yourself and see the results. I think there is nothing strange with urls. I think we have broken links because of those sites, they do not allow bots to check, or something like that.
Hi Simon!
Seems everything fine. Than i'm relived...
I remember that i have posted this java script while ago, so i wouldn't have been too happy if it makes troubles...

yeah :) you are the man who posted that script, I think it can not damage your SEO positions. I also checked my broken links stats in awstat and I could not find any problems with the way we use for clicks counting.
