Read all the search results threads on this, none of them helped.... Here's the situation: I had about 30 links in one of my directories. I somehow managed to corrupt the links table in the database. I uploaded a backup. Now the num_links function is showing only "0" next to cat and subcat titles. I can't figure out where this function pulls the numbers from, so I can't see where to fix it.

Any ideas? (I didn't make any changes to Layout.php or to Dir.php since it was displaying properly. Only thing I did was cause the link table to die....)

[[BTW, it doesn't make any difference if I input links manually either - still no num_links display....]]

Your directory URL ... ? Do you have any approved links in approved directories? Can you browse your categories and see any links from the user end? Last, but not least, what eSyndiCat version are you running?

http://findsouthernutah.com/resources/

version 1.4 demo/free

All links and categories are approved (these are manual input by me). For instance, prior to borking the links table, I had in the Art, Culture cat 16 links which showed as (16) next to the link title. Within that cat, I had subcats as follows (with the num_link as previously displayed):

Organizations (1)
Galleries (7)
Studios (2)
Artists (6)

None of the above are showing anything but (0) since I input the backup.

All links are visible when in the category on the user end.

Nev'mind.... there's not that much in there as yet, I just started it over. If it happens AGAIN, I'll post back....

So you did a clean install I guess then? That usually works to fix things.

Yes. The only thing strange now is that my template which was viewing fine (except for a couple of thing mentioned by pgolovko in another thread) in IE and FF is now only okay in IE. That's not a BAD thing, because 99% of the people who will access the site use IE and not greater than 1024x768 (this state has the highest concentration of computers per household anywhere in the US, but they're all OLD!)

So it can sit there the way it is for now, and I'll change the template over to jello piefecta over the next few days....
