more languages: categories path rewrite

Hi Simon!

You know my directory is in three languages. Now I want the categories to be displayed in the correct language.

What I have done so far:

In the categories table I have added fields for title_de and path_de as well as title_hu and path_hu. Inside are the translations of the category names.

In layout.php I could add some if statements to generate the correct categories, sub categories and path's depending on language.

so far so good...

now when I am in hungarian version for example, and the link looks like ::::OUTDATED LINKS REMOVED:::: i get nowhere.

what would i need to tweak to get this work?

why do not you use our categories path feature? It seems it completely fits your needs. Just enable it in your admin panel - configuration -> general configuration.
Or are you going to create different categories for three languages? please clarify!

i am using the path option of course. in the three different languages categorynames AND pathes (according to category name) are different. Therefore I have created the extra fields in category table with the language suffixes.

changes you are talking about are really great.. you are going to change URLs even. that's really too hard work.. I will check your files in details and let you know
