Just a suggestion. :)

As I believe Simon is the only programer at this time with this great script, it would sure help out if you happen to spot a question here on the forum, that you could answer, try to give a liitle help.

The more time Simon spends here at the forums, the more time is taken away from creating all the new options, folks like myself would like added.

I see alot folks here asking questions, but not spending a whole lot of time in helping others out. I'm speaking more so to the older members. But even to the newer users.

I just volunteer here. I think this is a great script that can even get better. If you can help out in any way - great :)

Well that's just my thoughts and I hope they aren't taken in the wrong way. :?:

Greg :)

Not at all, at least not by me. I volunteer at wordpress.org and several other sites like this one (CubeCart, phpLD - though that's on the wane since I'm migrating OUT of that script and INTO SynCat - which is my shorthand name for eSyndiCat).

I don't know a lot yet, but will certainly help as I am able.

Thanks vkaryl

I glad that wasn't taken in the wrong way (at least by you) :)
Does that mean you may be spending more time here then at phplinkdirectory? Not that it matters. Helping others is good everywhere. :)

Yes, it does. While I'm not going to go into recriminations and diatribes, I AM stating that I will be using SynCat for my resource sites. I am in process of replacing phpLD with SynCat as we speak....

Do I know you from there? Seems as if I've seen your nick around somewhere....

When I first came here, I helped out quite a bit. But as the script has added more features, it has also gotten more complicated. My realm of web site expertise is limited to HTML, CSS, and a very small amount of PHP. The questions here have gotten relatively harder for me to answer, but I still try. With that said, I won't make excuses. I'll keep trying to help as much as I can.

We all have our own particular strengths, echopulse. One thing I've discovered while "supporting" elsewhere: there will ALWAYS be someone who is less advanced than I am, and that means I am able to help at the very least that one person.

Even that much is important.

As we talk and urge more people to answer questions, I think there's a more urgent need for moderation of the forum.

As it stands now, the forum is in a "total mess". What I mean by this is, folks post wherever they like, and I've NEVER seen a single post moved to the appropriate forum (or even a mere statement that this is not the right place to post it).

Because of this, it's pretty difficult to find your way around when you're stuck with a problem ... and the quickest way is to simply ask a question which might have been answered dozens of of times alreday at various places.

I think Simon should consider giving access to a few people to moderate the forum. This will help everybody here, especially Simon himself (or is it herself?) and eSyndicat newbies.

Just my 2 cents ... not business or legal advice :-D

News Years Eve 2001 How soon you forgot.
Just kiddin' No I recognized the name at that other place and didn't think there could be too many "vkaryl" around :)

@ gappiah
Yhea things are definitely getting posted here and there. A moderator that could just move the posts to the correct forum would be good. I had some experience with phpBB a year ago, but have since forgotten the admin part.

I'm in the same boat. :)

yeah, moderation.
that possible could be a way out.. we do have lots of threads which have completely different posts in the very beginning and end.. Sometimes I catch myself on posting `offtopics` in threads :(
I think I should assign moderator status to RadioGuy and echopulse for now :) Later we will have more vacancies

You know you're successful when you have to assign moderators in your forum!

I think so also.. it means you have too many people in the forums to be helped and you can not do this alone.. I mean you can not help them alone.. you can not follow the whole process..

I will download the latest phpBB and give it test run and try to freshen up on things before I screw up anything here. (hopefully):)

Will there be an increase in pay :?: :)

to RadioGuy:
are you still going to get your million? :) I think we will think up something..

to echopulse:
you do deserve moderator status.
I'm just trying to setup this in admin panel  something does not work
