We are glad to inform you that new plugin has been added to download area. The DMOZeX plugin allows you to grab listings from dmoz.org directory.

Thank you Sergey. How do you think how long it would take to make categories structure import also. It would be a good additional functionality to this plugin

You use this at your own risk. We just offer a tool that would allow to copy this though we always recommend to use a unique categories structure. We had rather many requests from the customers to make a tool that would allow to copy DMOZ categories structure and listings and we created this.
Hi Simon, Good Morning,
"isn't copying category structure some type of copyright violation? or is it just a google violation? hmmm... doesn't google copy dmoz categories? "" :offtopic: << sorry it was just to test this smile >>
I'm impatient that we could import the structure categorie from DMOZ with or without listing :):)
Thank You

i wasn't complaining...i was just asking :o)
On another note, it would seam to me that any directory or search engine could be written in to the spider plugin but i haven't had the chance to look into this personally. if possible it would be a great addition...
by the way, great job on the spider upgrade!
Hi dezigner :)
I was jocking, it is alway like that when I wake up too early in the morning :ooi:

I cannot get this mod to work. It pulls up the browser window from within admin but there is nothing that indicates to me to be able to import the directory(s) anywhere. And sometimes it stops at loading in the right corner and gives a javasript error below. Please help. I just reloaded my entire store and I could use some quick catagories back in. i just want to import certain directories from DMOZ.

Hi jgoodpasture
Please clarify what browser you use? It's possible zsoi3 is right and you have this problem because of browser compatibility

It works fine in Firefox so i guess that is fine since I will only have to use it occasionally. It would really be nice to build the catagory structure while it's at it if possible.
The only problem I notice now is that I added 10 links to a catagory but on that catagory, it reads o (zero) in the link count. The link count does work for the links I've manually added however.

jgoodpasture,
You have to recount listings after adding listings.

Hello all,
I have added new feature to this plugin. Now you can import categories from DMOZ to you r directory.
Hi sergey Ten :)
Thank You very much for your plugin.
I did tests, here is the result:
1°) Work better with firefox.
2°) It isn't possible to import, categories and subcategories at the same time.
3°) It isn't possible to import <<categories, subcategories>> and links at the same time.
4°) When you import a categorie, the plugin come back at the beginning of DMOZ, so to
each categorie and subcategorie, you have go throught the DMOZ each time :(
5°) When you have the list of listings to import, they aren't in the good categorie, but they are all in the root categorie.
What would be good, you check a parent categorie, or subcategories to import, and the plugin import categories strcuture, with subcategories and links in the good categorie, and if the link is yet in the directory, it didn't import it.
Thank You again for the plugin.
Regards,
Noël

thanks for the mod, but can we keep it seperate, the directory importer & links importer ?
I think that a check box could be put, like this, when you want to import categorie/subcategorie/links you check box, and when you just want to import link or categorie alone you don't check box.
Hi Sergey Ten,
How could we do, to not have alway to go to the begining of the Dmoz after import a listing or a categorie, it too fastidious :(
Thank You
Noël
Hi Sergey Ten,
I have a big problem, the plugin doesn't want to import these links :
http://www.dmoz.org/World/Fran%C3%A7ais/R%C3%A9gional/Europe/France/R%C3%A9gions/Corse/Corse-du-Sud/Voyages_et_tourisme/H%C3%A9bergement/Locations_de_vacances/
It doesn't want also import this link:
http://www.dmoz.org/World/Fran%C3%A7ais/R%C3%A9gional/Europe/France/R%C3%A9gions/Corse/Corse-du-Sud/Villes_et_villages/Porto-Vecchio/Voyages_et_tourisme/
the link is: Office de tourisme de Porto-Vecchio
And also the same problem with this link:
http://www.dmoz.org/World/Fran%c3%a7ais/R%c3%a9gional/Europe/France/R%c3%a9gions/Corse/Corse-du-Sud/Commerce_et_%c3%a9conomie/Immobilier/
The link is: Secic
I think that there are some character (space or other thing) that the plugin can't import and it make the DMOZ plugin failed and freeze Firefox :(:(:(
Thank You

Hi,
I am no longer able to import the links. Everytime I use this plugin (ver 1.1), it is only importing the categories which I do not want. I want to import links like the previous version was doing. What should I do now?
Thanks.
