Two really Newbie Questions

Sorry i have to ask these questions but...

#1. How do i lock the ROOT category? I went to "Manage Category" to lock the other first level categories, but i couldn't find a place to lock the "ROOT". Thanks!

#2. How do i change the little "icon picture thing" which right now displays a folder? (you know the icon thats right next to your page title on internet explorer, or one of the IE tabs, right now it shows the "e-syndicat" folder logo, how do i change that?"

Admin panel
Left side menu
Click - Browse Categories
Click - Second icon from the right (at the top)
The icon that has the lock on it.

The "icon picture thing" is 16x16 pixels picture called favicon.ico
I believe it is somewhere in the admin/ folder.
You can create one of your own and replace the existing one with it.
This is not a standard picture format and you will need a special plugin to create it in Photoshop.
Just search Google for "favicon.ico" - there are tons of free online tools to create it.

It was over 90 here yesterday (South BayArea). I have a strong feeling it's going to be a hot one this summer.

Opse, didn't see your post up there Greg!! Thanks again. Hah, yeah and the weather is crazy in Cali lately, i'm planning to stay at home all day today, unlike yesterday which i ran around doing marketting work.

And btw, if you guys need it, http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/ is a anther great place to go to get fav icons directly reformated from any regular image file!

Then you need to go to your
>directory folder
>admin
>img
change and just paste your new .ico file in here, it will say there is one in there already do you want to replace this file

>ctrl F5 to completely refresh page. If it still doesn't show, clear your tmp folder.

That didn't work Greg...i dont think the original .ico file was in the admin/img folder, any idea where else it might be?

Woah i give up, i got ride of the esyndicat folder icon, but my icon is not showing up =(...well, thanks again! I'll move on to edit other stuff now, lol.

hmm...maybe i'll drive up to Ncal to escape the heat...going to Vegas this comming weekend, maybe it'll be cooler there...
