Hi guys. I am using the latest eSyndicat script and I was wondering what the proper way was to backup our directory. I noticed in the manage database area under EXPORT there were options, such as to ADD DROP TABLE, etc. Should I check all of the boxes and select everything?
I just want to make sure if I ever have to restore, I'm not missing anything. Thanks.

hello pctechbytes,
To backup the database, perform the following steps:
First click the Export icon.
Select the table you want to backup. For multiple selections hold ‘Ctrl’ key.
Check the option “Save as file” and choose whether the website host server or PC should be your backup file saved to.
Click the “Go” button. If you have “Save to PC” chosen, the system will then force your web browser to download the file.
If you have “Save to server” chosen, FTP to your site, get in backup/ directory and copy the backup file to your local computer.
Save this file in a safe location on your computer.
Note: You may want to leave the “Save as file” option unmarked. In this case eSyndiCat generates SQL script that you can easily copy and paste from the showed up window below.

To restore a backup file, perform the following steps:
FTP to your site and upload your backup file to the updates/ directory.
Enter the admin control panel and click the Manage Database link in the left hand column.
Click the Import icon.
Choose a file to import from the dropdown menu and lick the Go button. Note: Modifying the downloaded backups is NOT recommended.
---------
These directions i've copy-pasted from the Manage Database section of the Admin Control Panel Manual for eSyndiCat 2.1 that is available at http://www.esyndicat.com/esc_manual (http://www.esyndicat.com/forum/../esc_manual)
You can find in it much more useful things for your directory management i suppose :)

Hi pctechbytes,
Also I offer to use BackUP CRON functionality.
It will allow you to make regular backup.
