Default "eSyndicat directory software"

Can someone tell me how to edit the text "eSyndicat directory software" which appears on the home page of the directory in the center column just under the title? (new install 2.1 Pro version)

You do this from the admin panel. The site title on the Configuration > General Configuration page.

Default That's not it

Michele,

The one you are talking about is the main title in bold. The text I'm talking about is right under the main title.

I've mucked around with mine so much I'm not sure where that came from; I remember seeing it on one of the templates I played with. Is there a link to the page?

I'm thinking it's another variable setting somewhere that the index.tpl is displaying. You might be able to just delete that line.

HMMMM, just took another glance at that config page and it has "Suffix for page titles" and mine is blank - could that be it?

No mine is blank too.

I've been viewing most of the .tpl files in the templates directory, but can't figure out where this text is coming from.

I'm new to this script and to "smarty", so I'm not real sure where to go yet.

The way I typically test with this software and learned a bit of smarty and php in the process is to put some junk text in the templates to see where it shows up. I usually put something that I know would not normally be on the screen. I often use the word pickles. (Just be sure to remember where you put it in case you really mess something up.)

Depending on where it shows up can help you figure out what section of code causes what to appear on the screen. Keep in mind, depending on the CSS settings you may have to select the entire page to inverse the text to see it.

Hopefully, if you don't find it on your own, our activity in this thread will lead someone who "knows" where this is coming from.

Good luck - sorry I wasn't more help.

It would probably help those who know more than I do to post here which template you are using in case it is a template based issue.

To make it a bit clearer.
Go to admin panel
Left side menu - click on > Browse Categories
Now click on second icon from left.
Now you can edit the "Description" field.
Save Changes

See pic, attachment below for the icon location.

That's sweet...I did some funky stuff trying to figure out how to delete that...maybe that esyndicat plug should have directions to delete it, like the pages have directions to edit (privacy page says Privacy Policy Page Content)...just food for thought...thanks
