Default Importing Categories

Hi in my installation & configuration of ver 1.2 I have got as far as wanting to import my categories from another program.

I have been looking at phpMyAdmin table ??_categories and can see what most fields are about.

however there are 2 fileds that I simply cant understand. Please could some knowledgeable person tell me what they are for and what sort of values I should consider for them

num_cols

Don’t know what this is – in my test data some are NULL and some are “0”
  • neighbour
Don’t know what this is – in my test data some are NULL and some are “0”

Thanks
Mark

I think num_cols relates to the "Number of columns" field in edit category page in admin.
Not sure what it does. Originally thought it would set the number of columns that display in the sub-categories box for the individual category, but have tried that with no effect.

Only "neighbour" I can think of is Neighbouring categories. All my fields are set to 0 or null also, but I don't have Neighbouring categories enabled.

Now isn't that interesting

I had not noticed that field at the bottom of EDIT categories, I had just noticed that the screen looked the "same" as create categories - oops!

So ... hopefully there are some more knowledgeable people around who can help us both

Hi, I have eSyndicat installed and am trying to upload the common_categories.zip but there seems to be a number of SQL errors in it. Does anyone know if a revised version is in the offing? Need to be up and going promoting the new site (LinksOnDemand.org) in the next couple of weeks. Is there an alternate source file available?
