Regarding the "normal practice" thing, name one other company that rips its customers off that way? I own vBulletin, for example (you do, too!). You want to change the domain it's registered on? No biggie. Go to the control panel. It's done. I want to put PhotoShop on a diff computer? No charge. Windows? PHP Link Directory? No charge. I can't believe I'm telling you folks this. You think we're idiots or something? People can smell rip-off artists. You guys are stinking. It's like I told you in my note to you about this: you're damaging yourself far more with this policy than you're benefitting by charging folks $20 to change the domain.

Dudes, 99% of "link directories" that are started are complete and utter wastes of time. People have to try out several ideas before getting it right. You have to punish them in the process?

Maybe this is part of your business plan? Soak people every time they close down one domain and want to use your software on another instead? There's no good reason under god's green earth to be charging people for using *one license* on *one domain,* regardless of what that domain is.

You're just taking every opportunity to squeeze money out of customers. And that is no way to treat your customers. The ones with any dignity will walk, as I have.

As it was told before $75 is more than fair price for 1 domain license for such a product (again this is one time fee, you may check other companies). Free lifetime support and upgrade for this type of a product - that's nearly a dream for a webmaster. Think you do not understand how difficult to maintain this product for such a small fees.

Really, AFAIK they did a bit different thing They simply closed access to the downloads area for the current customers whom they promised a life time license.

EDIT:
We reinstalled our gateway server and we use openvpn-as as a server for our remote tasks. When I tried to re-issue my license I was unable to do this. Here is the reply from their support team:

It looks like you have expired support. We are not allowed to re-issue keys after support has expired. If you could please renew your support on your My Licenses panel I would be more than happy to re-issue you your license key.

WTF I might say, I am really disappointed with this. I simply reinstalled the same server. Anyway, I do understand that's the policy they have and it's my choice whether to use them or not.
