Post Disabling "strip code" and/or adding tags in input

Hello folks --

I am helping with http://tibetsites.com/ - We would like to use Tibetan script in some of the listings. That works fine, but the problem is that by its nature, Tibetan script is smaller than western scripts, and is hard to read. On most websites, i add a css class for Tibetan with larger font size.

The problem here is that only some listings will have Tibetan script. and sometimes only part of an entry - for example, part of the description. I was hoping to add a <span class="tibetan"> or even a custom tag, when entering the listing. But the < and > are converted to their character codes upon display - so the 'span" code shows up in the public listing!

I searched in the eSyndicat code to see if i could just disable the tag conversion, tried commenting out a couple things, but no happiness.

Can anyone point me to the best way to do this? I am fine with css, php, smarty, etc ... but ... not fine enough to figure out where to do this
(Hope my ramblings make sense!)
Thanks much,

Default

you can enable WYSIWYG editor for description field and you will be able to put HTML code
1. go to Admin Panel -> Manage Listing Fields
2. edit "description" field
3. select "WYSWYG editor"
