Subrion to replace eSyndicat?

I've been talking to Simon in what I already thought was a fantastic product for a project I am working on. I received an email that stated there is a better solution to what I am doing through the use of Subrion.

What I am confused with is there are 2 extremely similar products competing with each other that are being promoted and to know exactly which one I would be better off using would require a comparison chart.

This thread is just a call for help to decide on what platform works better for them. Perhaps a chart post can be made to tell the difference between them?

An example scenario is the following:

eSynicat 2.3 + Free Article Plugin 1.3 $75.00

or

Subrion CMS ( Web Directory Script + Article Publishing Script) $249.00

Perhaps having a comparison chart for the difference between the scripts just in the forum would help make decisions easier for the masses.

Sounds like Subrion is more feature rich and social based.

Welcome to our support forums Well, we will try to prepare a comparison chart but after the new Subrion version release. We are going to prepare beta version this month. It will have similar functionality and design in admin panel and the structure will be quite similar.

But even now subrion has more features specifically for accounts, and it's more members oriented, that's true

Hi Simon. I'm very interested in possibly upgrading to Subrion if there are enough reasons, features, etc. Are you working on a detailed comparison chart? If so, when will it be available? If not... I think it will help sales for you A LOT!

What will happen to eSyndicat after the next Subrion release? Considering how similar they are, it makes me wonder whether or not development will cease or slow down for eSyndicat or whether one day Subrion will replace eSyndicat.

Yes I'd like to know if there are any plans to make Subrion the successor of eSyndicat and cease development on it in the near future, as I don't want to buy a dead program, unless you would have a cheap discount to pro version owners and a migration script to auto configure some or all the settings of the syndicat pro version.

No We are not going to make competing products. Surbion web directory will be more an addition to the major functionality - CMS and classifieds packages. So we are not going to stop esyndicat development in any way.

So you have nothing to worry about. Anyway, if one day you will need something more powerful account oriented - you will be able to upgrade to subrion. Of course we will offer good discounts for esyndicat customers. There will be free migration as well

I thought that there already was a classified ad plugin available for eSyndiCat, but since I can't find one, what are my options for having classified ads in my eSyndiCat directories?

There is the Auto Classifieds and the Real Estate Classifieds for Subrion, which has a Web Directory and Article Package as well.

This will be more robust by September.
