I have had a directory for like 15 years, and it has grow quite a bit over the years.
It primary goal was to promote the parent website (that sells products) It lives in a sub directory of the parent site /dir/ Recently I have been considering moving the directory to another domain name and make it it's own site. The question I have is how do I move this site to another domain name without losing all more good standing on Google? I am also considering leaving the directory were it is, creating a new directory on the new domain name, but use the same database. Your advise is greatly appreciated. |

You can transfer the old directory and use 301 redirection for getting Google page juice

I agree a 301 redirect is the way to go. there's also an option to submit website change in google webmasters panel. Good luck with the move.
