URL canonicalization

Greetings,
Few days ago we got a question. Here is the quote:

How does eSyndicat handle url canonicalization? I ask because this is great in increasing search engine ranking as it reduces possible penalties for duplicate content depending on how the pages are accessed. WordPress and many other PHP scripts are now integrating this into their scripts.

For reference there are many articles on it that you can google, but a quick one I came across was:

It's a good question and I think we need to discuss it.


Basically we tried to care of all the recommendations by Matt. It's an old post and we used to discuss it before afaik. It seems eSyndiCat does this well. At least by default script does not generate any links with the same content that look different for the search engine. If you use non-www it generates full non-www links. All categories are ended with / (or .html) and no other ways to access them.

So we cared of this.
