Problem with 1.6 and theme change

I have installed version 1.6 and downloaded a few free themes like glassglass and extended. However when I try to change theme in the admin CP the front end goes blank..?

I need to know if its due to it being the 'demo' version of eSyndicate or else the problem will excist in the payed version as well.

Maybe,uploaded template to the wrong directory?

Its in the /template/ folder where the Glassy standard template already is..

Same file structure etc. I can even select the different themes in the admin panel and get a: "Changes Saved", however when I return from the admin CP I get a error 500 with the new themes selected.

Welcome to our support forums!
Often our customers uploads templates for wrong version. I can check it if you give me your FTP credentials.
