Smile Renaming Navigation/Footer Links

Product: eSyndiCat
Version: 1.6 Omega
Template: Glassy
Directory: Interchange-Designs

I am trying to start my own directory and I have been wanting to make everything as simply and short as possible. So, with that in mind, I was looking to rename a few links.

First of all, I want to rename "Suggest Listing" to "Add a Link". Then at the bottom change "Terms Of Service" to "Add a Link" with the same URL.

Then, I commented out the Suggest Category since I don't need that, but the border for it is still there at the far right if you follow the link.

Also, is there a way to change the e-mail user from "eSyndiCat Directory" to something like "Interchange Directory"? If so, that would be fantastic.

In addition, I noticed it includes pagerank as well, but AutoGaming has a PR of 3 (last time I checked) and it says not available. Is it possible it is just going to take time to generate?

I'm not sure if this has indeed been asked, but I thought to just ask it while I have all these questions about the template. Is there a way to possibly add those generated thumbnails next to the links and still keep it professional looking?

**Is it also possible that I can enable a setting where I don't have to approve every signup, link and comment? That is going to get really annoying after awhile and I was wondering if it any of that is possible.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Taylor Flatt

Hi Taylor Welcome to the forums

I haven't used the free version in a long time, but I'll try to give you some answers.

First of all, I want to rename "Suggest Listing" to "Add a Link". Then at the bottom change "Terms Of Service" to "Add a Link" with the same URL.
Admin Panel » Language Manager
Click "Search in Phrases" - Suggest Listing
Now under the "Value" column, double click "Suggest Listing"
and change it to what you want

You can do the same for "Terms of Service" however there's no way that I know of to direct it to the same url. You see that url changes according to the category you are in when adding a link. You can however to this through the admin panel with the ProVersion.

Admin Panel » Configuration » General Configuration
Scroll down to "Allow Category Suggestion" mark disabled
Save Changes

I'm not sure about the border part.

Maybe try taking a look here to find where to change it.

Sorry I have no idea.

Try this:
Maybe - Admin Panel » Configuration » General Configuration
Scroll down to:
Preview display by Thumbshots.org - mark "enabled "
Save Changes

Also - Try doing a search here in the free version forims for "thumbnails" I'm sure you'll find something.

That option is only available in the ProVersion.

I hope that helps you out some. Now it's time for a

I did that AND Commented it out when I noticed that it didn't remove that little bar there. So I tried one, then the other then both. Neither worked.

I did, it is enabled, but it isn't displaying the Thumbnail in the new listings or anything. I am basically wanting it to be displayed everywhere the site is located (Besides the right navigation). So in places like New Listings and Listings and all that.

To be honest, I would buy it, but I'm not sure if this directory is going to take off. If I actually get some people to start linking and stuff I will buy the ProVersion. But until I get a hundred or two links, it's not worth paying for something that isn't working for me.

I'm not sure about the border part.
It was a CSS issue, I should have thought of that before I asked. I fixed it.

Thank you for all your help and support. I'm sure this directory will take off mainly due to the awesome software you guys putout. Everything else you helped me with works.

try this:
edit listing-display.tpl in template folder.
Under or above

PHP Code:
<div class="url">{$listing.url}</div
add this code:
PHP Code:
<div class="preview"><img src="http://open.thumbshots.org/image.pxf?url={$listing.url}" alt="" /></div
